PRE FALL 2022

Antwerp, May 2022 -In French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle’s Tarot Gardens, 22 dazzling giant female figures arise above the olive groves on the Tuscan seaside. She spent the last two decades of her life erecting the towering sculptures—one of which she made her home—covering every inch in hearts, flowers, glittering mirrors, and chromatic swirls; mosaics in every possible medium. She saw them as joyful monuments to women.

This is how we first imagined our Pre-Fall 2022 collection: inviting, playful, a celebration of unbridled femininity. There are painterly sweeps of color placed on wrapped dresses and twisted

front skirts. The hand of the artist lives in the floral embroidery of a sumptuously knit cardigan. Mosaic-like texture is woven into crocheted camisoles and a cutout lace button down and skirt that surround its wearer in an aura of light.

Vibrancy is key. The palette of burnt and rusted reds, nectarine and camellia, honey and teak in concert play off one another for renewed energy. Sculptural shapes, from the blooming sleeves of a slim cotton bolero to the cinched waist of a tied rose-print blouse empower the natural rhythms of the female form. Perhaps Saint Phalle is called forth most directly in the sequins that spangle the season’s brilliant slip dresses and skirts. Whether worn in daylight

or at dusk, they’re a gesture to make a woman feel larger than life.

For men we have timeless and textural. Our Pre-Fall 2022 collection builds on our foundational codes—seasonless layers, the most luxurious materials—made exceptional by artisanal attention to detail. Crochet-like knits the color of bone offer polished relaxation to short-sleeve button downs and pull-on shorts, embodying the beauty of their craft. A painterly pattern of roses blooms across cotton shirt jackets and cabana shirts. Slim stripes draw a quiet edge on our Border Print Short Sleeve and Shorts. Subtle shifts in tone and texture (see: cable knits, shaker ribs, loose knit French Terry, the supplest suede) contribute layering brilliance; a transitional dressing blueprint optimized by pitch-perfect fabric weights. Take, for example, our wool cashmere vests and cotton-wool pants. In coastal blues and shades of sand, these are finished with ever-so-outsize proportions, a quiet surprise of the season that imbues each piece with the longest-lasting luxury: personal style.
